Due to expansion in workload, this growing asbestos laboratory that offers professional advice and support services to clients is actively seeking for an enthusiastic Asbestos Lab Analyst to join their busy laboratory in the North West and would include applications from Liverpool, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Merseyside and the surrounding areas.
The successful candidate must hold the P401 asbestos certificate and must have a proven track record working within this role in a laboratory environment and within the asbestos industry.
Responsibilities
* Receiving and preparing samples from site.
* Carrying out analysis of asbestos materials, etc., and entering the results in LIMS – in generating accurate data in line with standards – UKAS.
* Maintaining and developing – UKAS accreditation systems.
* Maintaining and assisting quality control and data in an appropriate and accurate way – complying with the company's quality systems.
* Ensuring that all analytical equipment used are kept clean and up to date.
* Solving problems appertaining to laboratory tests, and making sure that the samples are stored or returned to the right place.
* Getting involved with any other laboratory duties as and when required.
Qualifications
* Overall, the successful candidate will be flexible, have good communication and organisational skills.
* Will be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Package.
* Will have good attention to detail and carry out the work effectively and within time frame.
