About The Position

Location: Whyalla

Status: Full Time - Permanent

Closing Date for Applications: Sunday, 16th of November.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides support for participants to achieve their goal as specified in their plan. The Disability Service Team's priority is to ensure participants have a choice about what is important to them and to support them with those choices.

As the Disability Support Coordinator, you will use a person-centred approach to work with NDIS participants, their families and other community supports to assist with the implementation of NDIS plans. You will increase a participant's capacity to maintain supports, resolve service delivery issues and to participate independently in the National Disability Insurance Agency process.

Skills and Experiences:

You will:

* Be self-motivated and enthusiastic.
* Be skilled in advocacy for clients.
* Have empathy and strong relationship building skills.
* Possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

It is essential for you to:

* Have a current Australian Drivers Licence.
* Hold a current DHS Working with Children Check.
* Have relevant experience, in a paid or voluntary capacity.

Knowledge and experience working with the NDIS will be highly regarded.

A Certificate lV (or above) in a Human Services related discipline e.g. Community Services, Case Management, Disability, Mental Health, Youth Work, etc. would be highly regarded.

You may also need to be available for some out of hours work and travel between Uniting Country SA sites or interstate as required.
