A blank canvas and sanctuary of lagoon sands and lush grounds, paving the way for unique event spaces bursting with that inimitable "wow" factor all inspired by the vibrancy of Sanctuary Cove.

At InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort we are looking for a full time Bar Managerto join our team.

In this role, you'll be able to combine your passion of hospitality, and bringing to life unforgettable guest experiences with the opportunity to work closely with the Food and Beverage leadership team supporting and leading the Lagoon Beach Club and Verandah Bar, and our experienced team.

What is the job

Responsible for providing day-to-day leadership across our bars operation; maximising financial returns, driving development of people, creating and maintaining unique guest experiences, executing on brand standards, and building awareness of the resort, its product offerings and brand in the local community. In addition the role is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all governmental regulations concerning health, safety, or other licensing and applicable legislative requirements.

Your day to day

* Establish performance and development goals for team members and provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to enhance performance.
* Oversee, implement and drive any staffing related actions in accordance with company rules and policies for the Food & Beverage Department with support from Human Resources.
* Direct day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance expectations inline withbudget and control expenses with a focus on food, beverage, and labour costs within the operation.
* Educate and train all team members in compliance with governmental regulations. Ensure colleagues are properly trained in quality and service standards and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
* Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
* Demonstrate brand citizenship by maintaining compliance with all required brand standards, behaviours, hallmarks and license agreement mandates within the Food & Beverage Operation.
* Drive improvement in guest satisfaction goals. Collaborate with colleagues and hotel team members to establish and implement services and programs that meet or exceed guest expectations within the Food & Beverage Operation. Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.
* Collaborate with other Department Headsto ensure that all the facilities and equipment are cleaned and maintained as required, and service periods run smoothly.
* In conjunction with Management team analyse financials to drive revenue, future profitability, and maximum return on investment of the Food & Beverage Operation. Use distribution channels and technology platforms to drive revenue and maximise market share of the Food & Beverage Operation.
What we need from you
* Bachelor's degree/higher education qualification/equivalent in Hotel Management, or related field plus 4+ years of related experience, including Management/Supervisory experience.
* Knowledge of wines, beer, spirits and whisky. You will be able to create classic and innovative drinks exceeding customers' needs and expectations, and also have the ability to recommend beverages or any other product, pairing alongside our menus.
Exceptional customer service skills working in a luxury resort environment.
* Ensure compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations.
A Queensland Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate, ideally you will have at least 2 years experience in a resort-style bar leadership role
* You will also have the flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, late nights, weekends and public holidays across a seven-day roster.
