About us:
The Perioperative Unit is located in the newly refurbished West Wing of the Gladstone Hospital. There is 2 operating rooms and a procedure room. Services provided include elective and emergency surgery, day surgery, pre-anaesthetic clinics and sterilising department. The unit provides clinical care through the development and maintenance of relevant and proven patient care standard involving ongoing research in clinical applications. There department work extremely close with multiple disciplines to provide patient care to anyone accessing the service through elective surgery or emergency surgery.
About the role:
* Ability to work effectively in the health care team, organise work priorities, provide nursing leadership and review of models and work practices and patient care processes that support the continuum of care.
* Identify surgical patients for inclusion in the program through the application of criteria and protocols of the NSQIP.
* Attends monthly Morbidity and Mortality conferences to ensure reliance data collection of post operative occurrences and provide reports to NSQIP.
* Ability to integrate strategic direction and priorities for quality.
* Establish working relationships with members of the hospital community including clinical and clinical support staff.
* Serve as education resource on the ACS NBSQIP for internal and external audiences by developing education material and delivering presentations.
* Responsible for accurate and timely entry of data into the program data base and meet the caseload accrual requirement protocol.
* Reviews weekly site accrual report on the database and respond to accrual report alerts.
About you:
Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
The successful applicant will attend relevant training associated with the project and must maintain yearly compliancy with the program.
* A relevant postgraduate diploma or Master's degree is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $131,369 p.a. is comprised of:
* An hourly rate between $ $72.58 p.h.
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
