The Library is seeking to fill the role of Assistant Director, Digitisation on Demand (Executive Level 1) on an ongoing basis.
The Assistant Director, Digitisation on Demand role is a leadership position within the Section. The Assistant Director, Digitisation on Demand has people, program and stakeholder management responsibilities. The role manages employees performing diverse tasks and undertaking work that is very complex or sensitive, operating under broad direction.
The Assistant Director, Digitisation on Demand manages the team which supports the delivery of digitised copies in response to client requests and interlibrary loans. This includes:
- Leading and managing the activities of the Digitisation on Demand team including the use of systems to support digital collections management and delivery.
- Developing and reviewing policies, procedures and corporate strategies; interpreting policies and defining objectives.
- Establishing and reporting against KPIs for the Library's digitisation programs.
The Assistant Director, Digitisation on Demand provides leadership and expert advice. This includes:
- Appraising trends and identifying developments in Digitisation and Document Delivery service, technology and management systems.
- Leading activities in relation to contract management and strategic planning.
The Assistant Director, Digitisation on Demand will have high level leadership capability for leading and managing a team to deliver organisational outcomes.
Their responsibilities include developing, coaching, performance management, change management, conflict resolution and the identification of development needs.
The Assistant Director, Digitisation on Demand develops, manages and maintains a range of internal and external stakeholder relationships. This includes liaison and negotiation with existing and potential partners from across the cultural and research sectors, and with internal Library stakeholders.
