Your future role
Austin has an exciting permanent full-time employment opportunity for a dedicated, experienced professional to be our Global Logistics Manager at our offices in either Kewdale or Batam Indonesia.
Reporting to the Global Supply Chain Manager, the Global Logistics Manager is responsible for the development and management of relationships through excellent customer services both within the Austin Engineering global business and with our suppliers.
The successful person will oversee and manage the company's overall Logistics and strategies to ensure that Austin Engineering maximises efficiency, productivity, cost and support customer requirements. Additionally, support will be required for other Procurement Categories as the need arises.
You will be dealing in different time zones, meeting with colleagues both face to face and over "Teams" and dealing with different suppliers from all over the world.
This is not just a logistics role.
Who are we looking for?
We need someone with a pragmatic approach to doing business in an ethical manner while ensuring the company benefits from every transaction. You may have a degree in logistics or be highly experienced in global logistics and supply chain procedures and negotiations. The successful applicant needs to possess excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills coupled with outstanding interpersonal communication abilities in both verbal and written form.
An absolute advantage would be highly proficiency in logistics software with an adaptability to work efficiently in the fast paced every changing global business environment.
Role and responsibilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive global logistics framework and strategy that is aligned with Austin's business requirements.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in cost efficiency and operational excellence.
* Manage risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
* Provide support to regional business units in relation to both domestic and international freight and logistics requirements.
* Coordinate the movement of goods internationally by selecting the most cost-effective and efficient transportation methods.
* When required to do so, provide support to business units with respect to domestic freight movements.
* Ensure that Austins products are transported cost effectively, efficiently and in compliance with all regulatory regulations and international law.
* Provide insights to business leaders in terms of global logistics market trends and or risks.
* Use data analytics to evaluate supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement.
* Generate reports on key metrics, such as costs, lead times and service levels.
* Develop and manage partnerships with international freight forwarded and domestic vendors as required.
* Develop and track vendor key performance indicators to measure and report on supplier performance.
* Utilise sound commercial negotiation techniques that enables optimum commercial outcomes to be realised.
* Where required provide support to the broader Supply Chain team in reviewing alternate categories.
* Lead cross-functional collaboration and drive a "One Austin" culture and mindset.
* Work with internal stakeholders and key vendors to build long term relationships.
* Create and foster a customer service culture cross functionally so that all stakeholders and functions collaborate to be responsive, outcome focused and adding value across the group.
