Wodonga Senior Secondary College is a government year 10 to 12 co‑education school located 1km from central Wodonga on 7.84 hectares surrounded by residential housing.

Wodonga is one of the fastest growing regional cities in Victoria with a population of 39,351. It is located 3 hours and 20 minutes from Melbourne on the Hume Hwy. History and Enrolment Trends
Wodonga Senior Secondary College was established in 2005‑2006 through the regeneration of secondary education in Wodonga. It brings together three existing secondary schools into one senior secondary college (years 10‑12) and a middle years college for years 7‑9.
Student and Community Demographics
The College currently has 1,172 students. Enrolment has increased over the last five years. The majority of students transition from year 9 at the Middle Years College into year 10 at the Senior College. About 24 % of students are drawn from neighbouring communities (including New South Wales), independent schools and Catholic College.
The community is socially, economically and culturally diverse. For 3.1 % of students English is an additional language and 15.9 % of students are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.
Staffing and Leadership Profiles
80 % of teaching staff are highly experienced teachers. The Executive Team consists of 5 Principal Class teachers and 17 senior teachers. Additional support staff include laboratory technicians, librarians, administrative staff, maintenance and grounds staff, IT assistants and trainees.
The wellbeing team includes social workers, a Doctors in School program, a Koorie Support mentor, Inclusion Support and a Defence Transition Mentor.
Curriculum and Specialisation
Wodonga Senior Secondary College offers the broadest range of subject choices in the region. Partners with external Registered Trained Organisations to deliver a diverse range of VET subjects with a strong reputation supported by industry professionals.
Students can study Japanese or Indonesian face‑to‑face and participate in international study tours to Cambodia, Japan and Vietnam. Extra‑curricular activities include swimming, athletics, instrumental music, musical theatre and celebrity events.

Role
The classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges – Range 1 (senior entry) and Range 2 (mid‑career). The primary focus is on planning, preparing and teaching programs to achieve student outcomes. Teachers engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve knowledge and skills.
* Range 2 teachers play a significant role in improving student performance, supporting policy development, mentoring other teachers, supervising student teachers and using student data to inform instruction.
* Range 1 teachers develop skills under guidance, manage classroom learning, supervise students, and may assist in policy development, project teams and co‑curriculum activities.
Responsibilities
* Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
* Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas or other programmes.
* Undertaking classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal.
* Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
* Undertaking other non‑teaching supervisory duties.

Qualification Requirements
* Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
* If completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching program on or after 1 January 2024, demonstration of satisfactory completion of an accredited program.
* A Victorian ITE graduate after 1 July 2016 must show passage of the LANTITE requirements (if part of their programme).
