About the role
Reporting to the Logistics Leader, this critical role will be responsible for the daily transport operations of Aurizon West Kalgoorlie Container Terminal by providing safe, efficient and customer focused solutions, including the management of operators, contractors, and customers. You will be required to provide quality service in leading process and people to deliver to our customers. This role will see you:
* Plan, coordinate and supervise the end-to-end operational requirements of the transport task.
* Ensure capacity management is provided as defined by customer agreements.
* Liaise with operators and all other relevant internal and external stakeholders regarding capacity plans, scheduling, approvals and infrastructure works for the purpose of maximising capacity.
* Ensure all haulage and heavy equipment activities occurring within the operational areas are performed with a high degree of customer service in a directive on Coordination Plans.
* Maintain Aurizon performance reporting for the precinct ensuring Customer obligations are achieved.
* Supervise and assist local incident management and undertake investigations as they arise within the operational environments.
* Ensure that all work performed complies with all regulatory responsibilities.
About you
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in working in a logistics environment.
* High level of skill in supervising transport operations.
* Experience in the transport of Dangerous Goods.
* Extensive knowledge of the Safety Management System and standards.
* Substantial skill in planning day of operation activities.
* Substantial communication, interpersonal, consultation and conflict resolution skills.
* Substantial skills in the use of information technology and systems, focusing on monitoring, recording and reporting systems, utilised within the precinct environment.
* Previous line leadership experience in a large-scale logistics or heavy industrial organisation.
* Cert IV qualification in Frontline Management or similar would be highly regarded.
