Our client, AGL, are seeking late-stage Collections officers to join a newly created Legal Triage team on a contract basis. There are multiple roles open and are for an initial twelve-month contract duration to be based in Melbourne in a hybrid working environment. Credit Collections aims to minimise overdue accounts, prevent bad debts, whilst consuming the least amount of resources and upholding optimal customer experience. This team is responsible for managing & optimising cash collections across portfolios. The team ultimately aims to identify opportunities to resolve customer indebtedness upstream and improve customer engagement in the collection's lifecycle.
The Legal Triage Collections Officer is responsible for credit management/collections activity and decisioning in late-stage collections, primarily focused on maximising AGL's cash flow and minimising Net Bad Debt Expense. The position requires a deep understanding of the collection practices and regulatory compliance in the energy sector.
**To be suitable, you'll have**:
- Proven experience in late - stage collections activity
- Demonstrable understanding of the collection practices and regulatory compliance in the energy sector or similar industry
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage difficult conversations with customers
- Analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data
- SAP experience preferred
- Proven interpersonal skills with high quality written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads
- Goal orientated, thriving on meeting & exceeding targets
- Strong and proven strategic and conceptual skills
