Darling Range Sports College (SC) is located approximately 15 kms east of the Perth city centre in the foothills of Perth. The College is experiencing rapid growth and is seen as a school of choice by the local community and by students from across the state who enrol in our specialist sports programs.

As the state's only Sports College, DRSC provides specialist programs in AFL, Athletics, Baseball, Basketball, Netball, Soccer, Swimming, and Rugby. Complementing our sporting programs are extensive opportunities to participate in the Academic Challenge and Enrichment Program (ACES), the Music Program, the Vocational Educational Program and the Arts Program.

The Role

The successful applicant will ideally coordinate the Student Support Program whilst researching, developing and implementing systems, intervention strategies and alternative programs that provide a responsive and effective support service for students, family members and staff. The successful applicant will establish and maintain professional links between the student, the family, the college / school and other appropriate agencies in the community. The successful applicant will undertake work assessments on students, including liaising with parents / guardians, students, staff and other stakeholders.

The successful applicant will assist the School Administration team in crisis management by providing relevant and appropriate strategies and support, as required whilst actively assisting teaching staff in the planning and the implementation of class and school activities and co-facilitates group work. The successful applicant will actively participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and case conferences within the college / school and with other agencies as appropriate including the provision of information and consultancy advice as required.

Applicants who are eligible for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers would be highly regarded.
