Join the Pathology team and contribute to the provision of effective services in Haematology.
The Team:
Northern Tasmanian Pathology Service (NTPS) provides Pathology services to Launceston General Hospital and the Northern regions of Tasmania. We are the only public pathology service operating in North Tasmania. NTPS aims to deliver a high-quality service to general practitioners, medical specialists and private hospitals, providing patients with no out of pocket expenses for Medicare eligible tests. The team at NTPS comprises a large team involving multi-disciplinary scientists, technicians, non-technical staff and Pathologists.
The Role:
* Contribute to the provision of effective pathology services in Haematology.
* Under general guidance from the Scientist in Charge Haematology, perform professional work in one or more sections of the Pathology Department.
* Participation in the out of hours call-back service roster is a requirement of this role.
* This is a shift work position requiring staff to work out of hours as rostered.
You will need:
* Tertiary qualification/program of study in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Science or Applied Science or equivalent suitable to the position from a recognised institution.
* Eligible for membership with a relevant professional body such as Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists.
Details of appointment:
Permanent, part time, shift worker position, working 64 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join us.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* Tertiary qualification/program of study in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or Science or Applied Science or equivalent suitable to the position from a recognised institution.
* Eligible for membership with a relevant professional body such as Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists, Australasian Association for Clinical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine, The Australian Society for Microbiology, Human Genetics Society of Australasia or the Australian Society of Cytology.
