Two senior specialist seats. Identity and cryptography, end-to-end.
JiGSAW Notions is sourcing two senior cyber specialist roles on a long-running Defence-cleared sovereign program based in Canberra. Both seats sit at SFIA Level 5 and own their domain end-to-end — design through to operational sustainment — across an environment where credentialing and cryptographic trust are foundational to mission capability.
If you've spent your career deep in PKI, certificate management, identity stores or access platforms in a high-assurance Defence or government environment, and you're looking for a seat where the technical decisions actually land — these are the roles.
What we're hiring for
PKI / Cryptography Specialist Own the Public Key Infrastructure and cryptographic services posture across the program — certificate authority operations, certificate lifecycle, HSM management, key management, MACSec and certificate-based authentication, cryptographic policy and compliance. Engineer-grade depth in PKI architecture, x.509, OpenSSL or Microsoft PKI, and a track record operating in classified Defence environments.
Identity, Credential & Access Management (ICAM) Specialist Own the identity and access posture across the program — Active Directory, identity stores, SSO / SAML / OAuth, RBAC, privileged access management, federation, and credential lifecycle. Comfortable across hybrid identity (on-prem + cloud), Group Policy at scale, and integrating identity into both modern and legacy applications. ICAM design, deployment and operational sustainment all relevant.
Who we want to hear from
You probably fit if your CV shows most of:
* Currently held NV2 or higher AGSVA security clearance — submitted security packs aren't enough; you must already hold it
* Eligible to access Export-Controlled / ITAR ICT hardware, software and data
* 5+ years' deep specialist experience in PKI / cryptographic services or identity and access management — ideally inside Defence, intelligence, or other high-assurance environments
* For PKI roles: hands-on with certificate authority architecture, certificate lifecycle automation, HSM operations, key management, cryptographic policy alignment to ISM / Defence standards
* For ICAM roles: hands-on with Active Directory at scale, federated identity, SSO platforms, privileged access management, identity governance
* Comfortable working inside Defence security frameworks (ISM, DSPF, Essential 8) and accreditation processes (ATO / IRAP)
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and / or vendor certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, Okta, Ping, AWS / Azure identity, ISC2)
We're particularly interested in talking to people with:
* MACSec / IPSec / IKEv2 design and deployment in Defence environments
* Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) or equivalent NAC platform expertise
* Cross-classification identity federation experience
* Deployable / tactical PKI experience
* Experience automating certificate lifecycle at scale
