General Maintenance Handyperson – Marngoneet Correctional Centre
Hours: 42 hours per week (38 hours + 4 hrs towards RDO's)
Contract: Monday to Friday - Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled General Maintenance Handyperson to join Cushman & Wakefield's team onsite at Marngoneet Correctional Centre. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of facilities through planned, reactive, and project-based maintenance works.
You'll be part of a reliable, collaborative team, supported by a Facilities Manager committed to your professional development and success.
About You
You thrive in both autonomous and team settings, bringing initiative, reliability, and attention to detail. Your background will include (but not be limited to):
* Construction Card
* Valid Driver's Licence
* Experience in building services maintenance
* Knowledge of OH&S, risk management, and quality assurance systems
* Ability to maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles
* Scissor lift/boom lift tickets
* Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain within 12 months)
* Carpentry experience (advantageous but not required)
* Strong initiative and able to work autonomously
You'll be responsible for:
* Performing urgent, routine, and ad-hoc maintenance and repairs
* Conducting inspections and completing Job Safety Analysis before tasks
* Working autonomously to complete assigned jobs on time
* Collaborating with electricians, plumbers, and other trades on larger projects
* Liaising with stakeholders to minimise disruption to services
* Ensuring compliance with KPIs including safety, response times, and reporting
* Flexibility to work an on-call roster every 6 weeks
