Power System Engineer for Grid Center of Excellence
Taylor Hopkinson, in partnership with a global leader, is establishing a Centre of Excellence (CoE) to drive cutting-edge grid connections through collaborative innovation and regional expertise.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Power System Engineer to join our client's future-focused CoE as a key contributor in developing robust, sustainable grid connection strategies. The CoE fosters collaboration across regions, shares best practices, and ensures seamless integration of renewable energy into grids worldwide.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement strategies for the efficient and reliable integration of wind turbine generators (WTG), battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hydrogen products in various global markets.
* Stay informed about evolving grid connection technologies, standards, and regulations, driving innovation and compliance.
* Set up necessary tools, communication, and policies to streamline compliance assessment and grid code analysis for their products.
* Ensure that their products comply with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements in key markets.
* Collaborate with major grid operators, such as AEMO, National Grid, ESKOM, and CTU, and regulatory bodies to support projects.
Requirements:
* Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent; Ph.D. preferred.
* 2-4 years of experience in electrical grid systems, power system stability, and grid codes.
* Hands-on experience in power system studies and grid connection.
* Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
* Experience with simulation studies and grid connection processes.
