Overview
Join Metso, a frontrunner in sustainable technologies, end-to-end solutions and services for the aggregates, minerals processing and metals refining industries globally. We improve energy and water efficiency, increase productivity, and reduce environmental risks with our product and process expertise. This role is based at Metso Karratha Service Centre and involves joining a service team in a newly built facility on an 8/6 roster in Karratha.
What you'll do
Dressing items with a grinder for paint prep according to specifications on drawings.
Perform routine maintenance of production tools to specifications.
Basic process planning applicable to paint and blast shop planning activities.
Operate hand tools and power tools appropriate to the job.
Operate forklift/crane where required.
Order materials for replacement of consumables where needed.
Assist in providing on-the-job training when required.
Manual handling of loads with weights varying between 5–20 kg.
Adhere to safe work practices and report unsafe acts or equipment immediately.
Work within the provided OHS policies and procedures; promptly report accidents, hazards and near misses.
Use the Company's safety tools to control hazards applicable to each task.
Participate in Toolbox Talks and workplace inspections as required; speak up to improve safety.
Who you are
3–5 years of relevant experience as a Painter.
Experience with blasting and blasting specifications.
Experience operating hand and power tools.
Knowledge and experience in safe work practices.
Good planning and organizing skills to meet deadlines.
Basic communication skills including reading; ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings; basic mathematical ability.
