We are seeking a Designer to join our Menswear team to execute the Myer Exclusive Brands (MEB) product strategy for brand BLAQ.

About the Role
* Responsible for designing products from concept phase through to production with a focus on product elevation.
* Conduct trend research with a commercial, customer‐facing lens.
* Deliver our brand vision through original artwork using CAD & illustration and accurate design packs with specifications.
* Develop product aligned to the MEB brand DNAs in collaboration with the buying team.
* Create design direction for the brand, including mood boards, colour stories and print research aligned to the brand DNA.
* Establish a distinct handwriting and design aesthetic for the brand, evolving continuously.
* Design and develop new styles, source new fabrics and trims, and create design packs for garment vendors and sourcing partners.
* Maintain range boards, flow boards and updated visuals for range review meetings.
* Preferably have graphic design skills; prepare technical specifications for print artwork designs suitable for production, including placement, size, colouration and printing methodology.
* Collaborate with buyers to elevate product via sourcing opportunities, developing appropriate qualities, sampling and pricing.
About You
* Tertiary education in design or equivalent industry experience related to the design role.
* 6+ years' experience in a design or product development role.
* Advanced understanding of market, customer segmentation, trends and competitive landscape.
* Proven ability to interpret international trends for the Australian market and communicate them effectively.
* Strong understanding of construction methods and garment finishing, and knowledge of fabric finishes, treatments, washes, weights and fabric properties.
* High proficiency using Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Applications.
* Retail, financial and business acumen.
* Experience working for a medium‐size retailer is beneficial.
* Ability to work in a fast‐paced team environment, collaborating closely with the buying team, QA and sourcing team.
* Strong time‐management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
