We are known for our top quality coffee, focus on sustainable supply, and friendly customer service.We are looking for a Barista & Roastery Assistant to join our team!Position:Barista & Roastery AssistantHours:38-40 hours / week (Casual with consideration for full time role for the right candidate)Schedule:Between 5:30am and 3pmRate:$34.00 to $36.00 / hr + Super, Bonuses, and Penalty RatesLocation:Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast, QLDRESPONSIBILITIESRoastery Management– Opening and closing the roastery, managing inventory, ordering supplies, and efficiently running the day shift on some days.Baristaresponsibilities, including expertly preparing and serving a variety of beverages, food items, and providing exceptional customer service.Maintaining strictquality controlstandards for all drinks and coffee bean preparation.Welcoming and engaging customerswith friendly conversation, and actively determining their coffee preferences and needs to provide personalised recommendations.Educatingcustomers about the characteristics of different coffee beans, their origins, and the nuances of various roasts.Activelypromoting and selling coffees, as well as coffee brewing equipment, by effectively communicating the unique attributes and benefits of each product.General Adminof wholesale orders including invoicing, organising servicing, organising training, and helping answer general questions.Wholesale Deliveries to our customers in Gold Coast - 1 or 2 times per week.Maintaining aclean, safe, and hygienic work environmentthat adheres to organisation standards and follows sanitation regulations to prioritise the well-being of both staff and customers.ABOUT YOUPROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS2 or more years of recent experience as a Barista.Strong computing skills, including excel / google sheets.Strong knowledge of coffee beans, origins, and brewing techniques.Strong listening and verbal communication skills.A strong understanding of Food Health & Safety.NICE TO HAVECertification II or more in Hospitality.Organic handling experience.Sales or marketing experience.Xero.Food handling / Cookery experience.PERSONAL REQUIREMENTSAustralian citizen or resident with an appropriate visa to work in Australia.Note: This role is not suitable for Working Holiday VISA holders.Availability to Mon to Friday 5 days per week.Loves coffee and teaAbility to work independently, and delegate tasks when neededSelf motivatedOwn car with capacity to make deliveries.PERSONAL QUALITIESYou strive for open and honest communication with respect for othersProfessional demeanour and a desire to exceed expectationsStrong customer focus and empathyDesire to learnYou are reliable, punctual, and organisedYou like getting things done and care about how they get doneYou are proactive and self-directed, identifying issues and opportunities ahead of timeYou strive for achievement and making a differenceHOW TO APPLYPlease submit your CV and a short cover letter using the form below and we’ll reach out to you to schedule an initial chat.
