Appointed by the Archdiocese of Brisbane on behalf of the Corporation of the Roman Catholic Bishops of Queensland, this Governance Officer role supports the civil and canonical responsibilities of the Bishops’ Corporation and collaborates with the Provincial Finance Council. You’ll partner provincial entities including Catholic Education Queensland, Holy Spirit Seminary, the Regional Tribunal, the Queensland Professional Standards Office and university residential colleges to strengthen governance, risk and financial coordination across all the entities, enhancing their compliance and productivity. This is a hands-on, influential role where you’ll map legal and governance structures, drive consistent policies, and establish secure document retention across the province. You’ll develop practical tools such as standardised financial reporting templates, strategic planning and multi‑year forecasting, plus registers for audit activity and risk/compliance issues. As the Executive Officer to the Bishops’ Corporation and the Provincial Finance Council, you’ll coordinate reporting, follow up resolutions, and support sound decision-making with discretion and rigour. About You At least five years’ experience as an Executive or Personal Assistant within a complex environment with exposure to governance, legal, finance and risk in an Executive support capacity is required. Your strong stakeholder management, excellent interpersonal and communication capability, exceptional attention to detail and advanced MS Office skills will underpin your success.
