We’re on the hunt for a self-sufficient Bookkeeper who enjoys taking ownership, improving systems, and being a trusted part of a business. The successful Bookkeeper will manage day-to-day transactions, maintain accurate financial records, and support the business' financial health. The successful candidate will work at our friendly office (Monday to Friday).
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and supplier statements.
- Assist with payroll and superannuation in line with ATO requirements (37 team members)
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS).
- Maintain the general ledger and financial records.
- Monitor cash flow and report discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with GST and relevant legislation.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of five years' experience in a busy bookkeeping role.
- Strong knowledge of MYOB
- Previous experience with Simpro is highly desirable.
- Experience in the construction or childcare industries is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of Australian taxation, GST, and BAS requirements.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping (or equivalent).
- BAS Agent registration (desirable for BAS lodgement).
