As a Lawyer in our Injury team, you’ll provide advice and support to our national injury liability teams. Our Lawyers prepare matters for and attend PIPA pre-litigation conferences, identify legal trends, and provide strategic business solutions.

What you’ll do
Reporting to the Manager, Legal Injury, your key responsibilities will include:
4. Provide legal advice to the Suncorp Group, particularly personal injury liability personnel, ensuring protection of the Group's interests and compliance with the Risk Appetite statement
5. Advise on and attend PIPA pre-litigation conferences, facilitating effective resolution strategies
6. Partner with the business to simplify complex legal issues and provide easily understandable concepts
7. Actively promote a ‘one team’ approach across the Legal & Secretariat community, fostering collaboration and cohesion
8. Champion the use of the Risk Appetite Statement to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives
9. Contribute to process improvement initiatives that lead to operational efficiencies and reduction in claims costs, enhancing profitability and financial stability
What you’ll bring
10. Tertiary qualifications in Law (Mandatory)
11. Current Practising Certificate (or eligibility) (Mandatory)
12. Admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in any Australian Court
13. 5+ years of relevant legal experience
14. Experience in insurance or Personal Injury
15. Experience in the financial services industry, ideally insurance
16. Experience providing legal advice for a listed company
