Job Summary
A senior WHS Manager is required to lead the development and implementation of effective safety strategies across NSW operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Participate in annual safety planning activities and review meetings with the Head of Safety and Safety Team to ensure a proactive approach to risk management.
2. Liaise regularly with Business Unit Managers to identify key areas for safety improvement and opportunities, driving a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
3. Maintain a strategic risk review register across all operational hazards, ensuring timely identification and mitigation of potential risks.
4. Develop and implement targeted safety initiatives to address areas for improvement, fostering a positive Chain of Responsibility culture throughout the organisation.
5. Monitor activities against plan to ensure effective and timely delivery, making adjustments as necessary to maintain momentum and progress.
6. Develop an annual safety audit, inspection, and observation schedule, focusing on high-risk operational tasks to minimize the risk of incidents.
About You
1. You hold undergraduate qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, Behavioural Sciences, or a relevant area, demonstrating a strong foundation in safety principles and practices.
2. You have experience with risk management systems and their application to operational requirements, ensuring a robust and compliant safety framework.
3. Your background includes lead auditor experience in Safety Management Systems (ISO 45000), Workers Compensation programmes, claims management, and premium calculations, as well as digital incident management systems.
4. You possess proven experience within the mining, construction, waste management, resource recovery, manufacturing, and/or engineering industry at a senior level, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this role.
