Responsibilities
* Configure and maintain z / OS Connect server instances, including connection profiles and security settings.
* Assist the deployment of REST APIs that expose CICS, IMS, and DB2 services through z / OS Connect.
* Troubleshoot API integration issues (e.g., data conversion, special character handling, ASCII / EBCDIC mismatches).
* Monitor API performance and optimize throughput using SMF and Splunk analytics.
* Collaborate with application teams to validate payload structures and resolve integration limitations.
* Support version upgrades and apply maintenance fixes for z / OS Connect runtime.
* Install, configure, and maintain WebSphere Application Server environments.
* Assist and manage application deployments, including EAR / WAR packaging and JVM tuning.
* Troubleshoot connectivity between WAS and backend systems (MQ, DB2, z / OS Connect).
* Apply fix packs and perform environment health checks for high availability.
