Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

Job description:
Who we're looking
As a Control Systems Technician, you will maintain and troubleshoot critical instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA, and control systems across crushers, conveyors, winders, and processing circuits to support safe and efficient operations at Newmont Tanami Operations.
As part of our team you will:
* Maintain and calibrate instrumentation and control systems across surface and underground fixed plant equipment.
* Perform instrumentation and control tasks to a high standard in line with Australian regulations and relevant industry standards.
* Diagnose and fix faults in PLCs, SCADA, sensors, valves, and automation systems to keep operations running smoothly.
* Implement minor temporary and permanent change requests to ICS software / applications.
* Follow safety and compliance standards, completing risk assessments and reporting hazards or incidents.
* Keep accurate records of maintenance, calibration, and fault-finding to support planning and reporting.
* Support continuous improvement by monitoring system performance and suggesting upgrades or fixes.
Prerequisites for your success in this role:
* Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control.
* Demonstrated experience in Schneider Modicon PLC, Citect Plant / Scada HMI.
* Highly desirable experience ABB ACS Winder Control.
* Proficient using SAP, control loops and field instrumentation.
* Strong fault-finding, calibration, and time management skills and the ability to work well independently.
* Valid drivers licence.
