Operational Excellence Director
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in operational leadership and strategic execution, with the ability to drive business growth and improve efficiency.
* Lead and manage all operational aspects of the business, ensuring projects and services are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
* Translate strategic goals into operational plans, ensuring alignment with global business objectives and local market requirements.
* Oversee project delivery, focusing on quality, compliance, and risk management, using methodologies such as Prince2 or similar.
* Drive commercial performance through operational efficiency, resource planning, and cost control, supporting sustainable revenue growth.
* Lead and inspire high-performing teams, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, safety, and accountability.
* Work closely with departments to ensure reliable and open communications and a collegiate working environment.
* Build strong relationships with clients, government stakeholders, and technology partners to enhance reputation and presence.
* Ensure full compliance with Australian laws, safety regulations, and industry standards across the organisation.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support the adoption of modern technologies, systems, and processes.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Telecommunications, or a related field (required). Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or another relevant postgraduate qualification (desirable).
Professional Certifications (desirable, not essential): PMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma, AICD (Australian Institute of Company Directors), or equivalent executive training.
Solid understanding of telecommunications or wireless communications (e.g., DMR, P25, LTE, private LTE, LEO/GEO). Familiarity with public and private sector procurement and contract management in Australia. Knowledge of WHS (Work Health and Safety), quality systems, and operational risk frameworks.
10+ years' senior operational leadership experience in telecommunications, technology, or engineering sectors. Proven success in managing complex, large-scale projects and multi-disciplinary teams. Experience working with mission-critical or infrastructure-based systems, ideally within highly regulated environments. Strong track record in implementing operational improvements and managing organisational change.
