Library

At UniSQ, the Library is more than a place to study - it's a critical partner in learning, teaching and research across the University. Our Academic Liaison team works at the intersection of disciplines, digital capability and student success, delivering innovative, evidence-based services that make a real difference to how students learn and how educators teach. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, future-focused Library where you'll work closely with academics and students and help shape engaging digital and information literacy experiences that support UniSQ's ambition to be transformational.

Who you are

Our Academic Liaison team is seeking a motivated Academic Liaison Librarian to support students to develop their competence and confidence with information and digital literacies.

You are a curious, collaborative information professional who enjoys working closely with students, academics and researchers to make learning and research more accessible and impactful.

You bring a strong understanding of the academic library environment and a genuine interest in digital literacy, scholarly communication and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence. You're energised by front-line engagement and enjoy working directly with students, academics and professional staff to build confidence and capability. With a collaborative mindset and a commitment to service excellence, you take pride in contributing to programs and initiatives that enhance the student experience and support UniSQ's pursuit of excellence in learning, teaching, research and community impact.

This position will be based at either our Toowoomba or Ipswich campus.

What you'll do

In this role, you'll work at the front line of UniSQ Library's engagement with students and academic staff, delivering discipline-based information and digital literacy support that directly enhances learning and teaching. Day to day, you'll collaborate with academics and Library colleagues to design and deliver workshops, online resources and tailored advice, build strong relationships within your designated disciplines, and contribute to the continuous improvement of Library services.

Within your first 6–12 months, you'll establish yourself as a trusted contact for key stakeholders, contribute to the development of high-quality learning resources, and identify opportunities to strengthen support for student success and research capability. The role offers meaningful scope to build discipline expertise, expand your digital and teaching capabilities, and grow your career within a collaborative, future-focused academic library environment.

With multiple campuses within South-east Queensland, there is an expectation that you will travel between Toowoomba and Ipswich regularly to support the respective School in their academic endeavours.

What will help you succeed

Key to your success in this role will be your ability to work collaboratively within a service-oriented team and fully embrace the challenge of renewing and evolving into a world-class academic library service. You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy working directly with students and academics and are motivated by making a visible impact through front-line engagement. A solid understanding of the academic library environment, along with experience in digital and information literacies, scholarly communication and emerging technologies, will support your success. Being proactive, adaptable and curious—particularly in using evidence and feedback to refine your practice - will help you build strong relationships, deliver high-quality services, and grow your capability as part of UniSQ's Academic Liaison team. In addition, you will have:

* a Degree qualification in the appropriate discipline area with relevant experience, as well as eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
* Knowledge and/or experience in a relevant health discipline area, and familiarity with teaching and learning resources used in university preparation/pathway courses would be highly regarded .
