Our client, a prominent federal government agency, is on the hunt for a talented and experienced **Cyber Security Specialist** for a **6 month + ext contract.** Are you ready to take on the challenge of protecting critical systems and information in an exhilarating work environment? **Role Description**:
As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will be an essential team member responsible for providing detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support, and advice in relation to complex cyber security problems. In this role, you may also be required to undertake team leadership and management responsibilities, setting priorities, and managing workflows effectively.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills to effectively convey complex cyber security concepts and strategies.
- Mentor and provide expertise within a team environment, fostering collaboration and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards in the field of cyber security.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- Proven experience in Australian Government governance concepts, with a focus on ICT, policy/standards development, and documentation of frameworks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and provide expertise within a team environment, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work culture.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- An understanding or lived experience of disability is highly desirable

**Working Hours**: The standard working hours for this position are 37.5 hours per week.
