About Your Opportunity
Reporting to the Industrial Relations Manager, this specialist role offers the unique opportunity to be a trusted subject matter expert in employment law within a supportive small team. You will provide IR advice across key projects, represent Seqwater before the Fair Work Commission and the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, and prepare high quality submissions. You will work with HR, business leaders and external lawyers to deliver legally compliant outcomes aligned with our values. A key highlight will be participating as an observer in enterprise bargaining in the first half of the year and leading the coordination and implementation of a new Enterprise Agreement in the second half of the year.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as Seqwater’s representative in external tribunals and manage complex ER cases, disputes and support HR on complex investigations.
* Provide expert specialist advice on employment law and compliance with enterprise agreements.
* Bring your trusted expertise on the Payroll Modernisation Project focusing on compliance to ensure compliant implementation of employment obligations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
* Demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation and proven ability to develop pragmatic solutions.
* Exceptional influencing skills with the ability to coach and guide stakeholders.
* Demonstrated success partnering with senior leaders or HR and navigating challenging or sensitive situations with professionalism.
* Commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
* Experience working closely with Unions would be highly regarded.
This role is offered on a full time 12 month fixed term basis – a very competitive salary plus 12.75% superannuation is on offer to the right candidate.
