To provide intervention including support, education and resources to clientele of Gunawirra's Young Aboriginal Mothers Program (YAMP) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families from pregnancy through preschool age. Work to promote positive developmental outcomes for infants and children by fostering supportive social relationships and cultural connection, and addressing social determinants which negatively impact the parenting and family environment.
· Organise and facilitate three weekly YAMP (Young Aboriginal Mothers Program) groups, including but not limited to: managing referrals, coordinating transport, organising cultural activities & excursions, providing education and resources, organising meals, and liaising with cultural advisors and health care providers
· Work in partnership and maintain relationships with relevant community services and care providers, including Art Therapy, Speech Therapy, Audiology, Nutrition, Early Childhood Education, Cultural/Community Elders, and others as required
· Possible travel to remote/regional partner preschools and communities
· Other duties may be assigned from time to time at the discretion of the company
· Support families' connections to culture, community and land
· Address social determinants that impact Aboriginal women, children and families' social, emotional and wellbeing outcomes, e.g. unstable housing or income, negative encounters with systems and services
