About the role

The primary purpose of the Community Engagement Officer is to coordinate community awareness raising activities in the region, promoting the services offered by headspace. You will assist in the development of the Community Engagement Strategy and design and coordinate events for young people aged 12 to 25 years old.

You will be someone that has experience in building networks, coordinating fundraising events and promotes our services via multiple media platforms. This is a fixed term full time role up to 30 June 2027 with the possibility of extension due to ongoing funding.

Skills & Experience

1. A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, and/or extensive experience in community development, health promotion, public health, social sciences or education.
2. Proven ability to engage and communicate to groups of people (including public speaking), tailoring communication to suit a specific target group or age range.
3. Demonstrated understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems.
4. Ability to manage and prioritise a range of tasks and projects simultaneously.
5. Experience in coordinating, implementing and reporting on health promotion/community programs with some level of autonomy.
6. Current drivers licence and have access to comprehensively insured motor vehicle.
7. Ability to travel and work at headspace Goulburn and Yass.

About headspace

headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging mental health issues. The multidisciplinary team at headspace Liverpool work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people.

Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Liverpool. We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally tailored, high quality physical and mental health services across NSW and the ACT.
