The Candidate
* Experience in unsecured debt collection/debt recovery processes and litigation.
* Valuable understanding of Court Rules, including enforcement processes.
* Excellent attention to detail and confidence in drafting skills.
* Comfort and confidence in managing your own file load, with support from the paralegal manager and lawyers.
* Commercial approach: ability to articulate and negotiate effectively with excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and autonomously as part of a larger team with an open, team‐oriented approach.
What You Will Be Doing
* Draft legal documents in various Australian jurisdictions (e.g., commencing claims, obtaining judgments and enforcing judgments by way of enforcement processes).
* Draft correspondence to various stakeholders (to the Court, defendants or solicitors).
* Run files under supervision, including management of critical deadlines.
* Obtain client instructions and action them in accordance with internal service standards.
* Account related duties including processing third‐party disbursements (e.g., Process server fees).
* General administrative duties, such as diary and file management (filing, bring ups, opening and archiving files).
* Work collaboratively with the litigation partner and team.
