Job Description

We are seeking passionate and experienced academics to join our teaching team as Sessional Lecturers in the Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) and Master of Professional Information Technology (MPIT) programs. Session 2026 commences 02 March 2026. Teaching is conducted in person at our Melbourne campus, with classes scheduled between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM. You will also contribute to research activities and student mentorship.

Teaching areas required in one (or more):

* Bachelor level: Communication and Information Management, Programming Principles, Computer Systems, Computer Networks, Network Security, Ethics and Professional Practice and Data Structures.
* Master's level: Topics in Information Technology Ethics, Data Mining and Visualisation, IT Infrastructure Management, IT Fundamentals, Programming Principles, Cloud Computing, Foundations of Big Data Analytics, Employability Skills, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Digital Forensics and Professional Communication.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teach at AQF 7 (Bachelor) or AQF 9 (Master's) levels, with guidance from course coordinators and academic staff.
* Deliver lectures, tutorials, and workshops in person on campus.
* Engage with students via the learning management system (LMS) and consultations.
* Mark assessments and complete administrative tasks within the given timeframe.
* Participate in professional development and scholarly activities. Reflect on teaching and apply student and peer feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* A master's degree (for teaching at the Bachelor level) or a Ph.D. (for teaching at the Master's level) in a relevant Information Technology discipline.
* Previous teaching experience, preferably at the university level.
* Proven ability to teach and assess students effectively.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Effective classroom management and problem-solving abilities.
* Commitment to promoting diversity and equity in education.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
