About Umwelt

With over three decades of experience and nine locations nationwide, we are a team of vibrant professionals collaborating with clients across a range of sectors including renewables, resources, infrastructure, defence, regulation and policy, and urban development. We provide fully integrated environmental and social assessment and management services including concept and feasibility, technical assessment, consultation, approvals, delivery, operations, and decommissioning.

In Western Australia, our team of around 50 environmental, ecological, social, and spatial consultants delivers expert support across major renewable energy, resources, infrastructure, government, and defence projects, both statewide and nationally. Thanks to strong growth in recent years, our WA office is now firmly positioned as a leading consultancy, particularly in the renewable energy and resources sectors.

About the Role

As a member of our Western Australia Environmental Team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our clients by delivering comprehensive environmental impact assessments, environmental planning, approvals, and environmental management projects across various sectors, including renewables, resources, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

* Project Management : Scope, plan, manage, and execute environmental assessment, environmental planning, and environmental management projects, ensuring integrated outcomes and high-quality delivery
* Technical Delivery : Maintain a focus on delivering high-quality project outcomes that meets the needs of our clients
* Client Engagement : Build and maintain strong client relationships, developing high-quality proposals to secure new business

About You:

* Qualifications in environmental science, planning, or related degree discipline
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental impact assessment or environmental planning (WA experience preferred) – consulting experience is desirable
* Strong knowledge of environmental and planning legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices
* Experience managing medium to large projects through the development spectrum, including managing timelines, budgets, and resourcing
* Experience working on renewable energy, resources, and/or electricity transmission desirable
* Adaptability to undertake a range of technical work based on project requirements
* Interest and aptitude in working across multiple disciplines
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to develop and maintain positive team and client relationships
