Join us in shaping the future of healthcare in Regional Queensland.Your Opportunity:To provide efficient and effective Occupational Therapy service to the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service rotating through direct clinical caseloads. This includes:Detailed clinical assessment, patient education, therapeutic intervention and/or management and assistance with discharge planning within an interprofessional context.Clinical education, supervision of observational students and allied health assistants, and assistance with supervision of undergraduate students.Participation and contribution to quality improvement and research activities under the guidance of senior staff.What we're looking for:Clinical Expertise – Demonstrated ability and clinical experience in acute and rehabilitative management of medical conditions, including neurological disorders, orthopaedic conditions, paediatrics, hand injuries and splinting.Communication – The ability to work effectively as a member of a health care team, demonstrating a high level of communication skills, flexibility and a co-operative approach.Operational Management – Demonstrated ability to self-manage caseload, including ability to prioritise referrals and non-clinical workloads including administrative requirements, such as report writing and statistics in a timely manner.Leadership – Demonstrated ability or ability to rapidly acquire the skill to provide guidance to Occupational Therapy support staff and education students.Quality Improvement – Demonstrated high level of commitment to professional training and development programs, including innovative in-services, quality activities and clinical research.Preferred Qualifications:Mandatory possession of a qualification from a registered tertiary institution as an Occupational Therapist and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association.
