APS5 Assessment Officers & APS6 Senior Assessment Officers
Duties may include a range of the following (but not limited to):
* Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of relevant Commonwealth environmental legislation to support confident, accurate, and high-quality advice and assessment.
* Undertake triage assessment of allegations and wildlife seizures associated with potential contravention of Commonwealth Environmental law.
* Review data and satellite imagery associated with proactive detections of potential land clearing, determining whether further assessment is warranted.
* Perform accurate data entry of allegations, enquiries, and seizures into relevant databases and case management systems.
* Contribute to Ministerial Correspondence, briefing materials and reporting in an accurate and timely manner.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and complex enquiries.
* Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement.
* Ability to effectively work in a team, delivering quality outcomes within required timeframes.
* High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience using Microsoft Office applications and ability to quickly learn new systems.
* Knowledge of environmental legislation or regulatory processes is desirable but not essential.
* Experience with SAT-GIS or similar systems/tools is desirable but not essential.
