Our client, a leading civil utility contractor, is seeking a highly experienced and driven Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major water project in Bendigo. This is a key role within the company, requiring a proactive individual with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
The Role:
The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the wastewater treatment plant project, ensuring it is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This will involve:
* Project Leadership: Providing strong leadership and direction to the project team, including engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
* Planning & Execution: Developing and implementing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitoring progress against these plans.
* Contract Management: Managing all contractual obligations, including variations, claims, and reporting.
* Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, regulatory authorities, and community stakeholders.
* Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating project risks, ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel.
* Quality Assurance: Implementing and maintaining a robust quality management system, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
* Financial Control: Managing project finances, including cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
* Safety Management: Championing a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
* Reporting: Providing regular project updates and reports to senior management.
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess:
* A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Extensive experience in managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects, within the water or wastewater sector.
* Ideally delivered a treatment plant in the past.
* Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent contract management and negotiation skills.
* A thorough understanding of relevant Australian standards and regulations.
* A strong commitment to safety and quality.
* Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a diverse project team.
* Experience with large scale concrete and process mechanical installations is highly desirable.
* Experience working on regional projects.
