The Clinical Nurse Consultant plays a vital role in delivering advanced clinical leadership and expertise in primary health care for male offenders at the Capricornia Correctional Centre. Operating under the Capricornia Offender Health Service, which caters to around 1,200 male prisoners across CCC, the Capricornia Correctional Farm, and work camps, the CNC collaborates with the CNC Health and Wellbeing, Nurse Unit Manager, and Nurse Educator.

About us:
Capricornia Offender Health Service (COHS) is responsible for the delivery of health service to prisoners in the Capricornia Correctional Centre (CCC), Capricornia Correctional Farm (CCF) and prisoner workcamps. COHS provides a health service to a fluctuating population of approximately 1200 male prisoners within CCC and CCF. The needs of this client group vary widely and COHS requires a flexible system that responds to urgent/non-urgent, complex, planned chronic care and preventative health needs.
About the role:
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC), Primary Care role is to provide advanced clinical leadership and clinical expertise relevant to the speciality of primary health care to male Offenders at the Capricornia Correctional Centre. The CNC works in partnership with the CNC Health and Wellbeing, Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), Nurse Educator (NE) and wider Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) program teams to support the health services in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of correctional nursing.
About you:
Current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
A relevant postgraduate diploma or Master's degree is an expectation of this position. Where the successful applicant does not currently hold this qualification, commitment to completion within an agreed timeframe is expected and will form part of the performance and development plan.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $164,212 p.a. is comprised of:
An hourly rate between $66.85 - $72.58 p.h.
