Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated professional to join our team as a Child Protection Caseworker. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for working sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people to provide support and guidance in achieving positive outcomes.
Your role will involve working in partnership with other agencies and engaging in complex problem solving to develop safety plans and complete risk assessments. You will also be involved in court processes, including the preparation of court documents and attending court.
In addition, you will participate in individual and group supervision, and engage in Aboriginal cultural supervision to ensure that your practice is informed by and respectful of the cultural needs of the community.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A relevant diploma or degree qualification is preferred, however applicants without a relevant qualification require at least two years' experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families.
* The ability to build positive working relationships with the Aboriginal community, supported by excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* A valid driver's licence.
* A paid working with children clearance number.
