Overview
The Airwallex Creative team is looking for a talented and motivated Digital Designer to help bring our brand to life through design and motion excellence. We're looking for a proactive problem-solver and natural collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced, global fintech environment. This role will join a tight-knit Australia-based team and play a key part in shaping and evolving Airwallex's visual design language as the brand continues to scale globally. You'll work as a hands-on designer embedded in the Brand Studio team – turning briefs into highly crafted visuals for digital, social, web, presentations and event experiences. You'll collaborate with copywriters, motion designers and producers to ship work that is on-brand, effective and easy to scale across regions.
On a day to day basis, you can expect to:
* Be a brand and craft champion who understands and extends Airwallex's visual identity, design principles and systems along with some motion elements.
* Prepare, optimise and deliver assets for a wide range of outputs including social, web, in-app, DOOH, experiential and broadcast
* Align to established brand and design systems to create cohesive experiences across 2D, 3D, motion and product surfaces
* Own end-to-end projects: from interpreting briefs and developing concepts through to polish and final delivery across multiple channels
* Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (at minimum Photoshop and Illustrator); comfortable working in Google Slides/Keynote for narrative and presentation design.
* Use AI-enabled tools (such as Pencil Pro) thoughtfully for exploration and variants, while keeping final output on-brand and high quality - using AI to elevate craft, not replace it
* Contribute lighting, rendering and basic compositing as required to ensure high-quality, production-ready outputs
* Stay across emerging trends in design, animation, AI and creative technology, proactively bringing new ideas and techniques into the team

You'll bring:
* 5+ years' experience as a visual designer, digital designer or similar in a creative agency, in-house studio or product/marketing team. Ideally, looking for someone who can also do animation and motion design.
* A strong portfolio or showreel demonstrating high-quality design across campaigns, product storytelling, social content, brand films or motion graphics
* Strong understanding of design fundamentals, timing, pacing and visual storytelling
* Strong eye for typography, layout, hierarchy and composition, with attention to detail in spacing, grids and systems.
* Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (at minimum Photoshop and Illustrator); comfortable working in Google Slides/Keynote for narrative and presentation design.
* A solid grasp of lighting, materials, rendering and basic compositing techniques
* Comfort working within established pipelines and collaborating closely with designers, modelers, developers and other creatives
* The ability to receive feedback openly, iterate quickly and collaborate constructively — even when opinions differ
* A positive, curious mindset, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in contemporary motion design and animation trends
* A willingness to learn and experiment with emerging formats and technologies, such as real-time engines or interactive motion
* Comfort working in a global, distributed team, balancing multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
* Clear communication skills; able to explain design decisions and respond constructively to feedback.
Bonus marks for:
* Experience in B2B or fintech, or with complex digital products, and a track record of making them feel simple and aspirational.
* Familiarity with motion design or the ability to collaborate closely with motion designers
* (storyboards, asset prep, simple animations).
* Exposure to AI-powered creative tools (e.g. image generation, layout or copy assistants) and an interest in using them to increase quality and speed.
* Experience working with or within in-house studios or brand/visual design teams alongside marketing.
