Night manager - malmsbury

About the Role
* Oversee the overall performance of operations, client service, compliance requirements and security of the custodial precinct at night.
* Provide professional services overseeing security and safety of the precinct, compliance, CCTV monitoring, responding to alarms, incidents and needs of young people during evening lockdown, unlock hours and overnight.
* Contribute to the occupational health and safety, human resources, rostering and local budget responsibilities in order to meet service delivery priorities for the custodial precinct during evenings and overnight.

Youth justice custodial centres accommodate young people aged 12-18 years who have been remanded or sentenced by the Criminal Division of the Children's Court, and some 18-21 year olds sentenced by Adult Courts to a youth justice custodial centre.

The three Youth Justice custodial precincts in Victoria are managed by the Department of Justice and Community Safety:

* Parkville Youth Justice Precinct is in the inner northern Melbourne suburb of Parkville, approximately five kilometres from the central business district.
* Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct located to the west of Werribee.
* Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct located approximately 100 kilometres north of Melbourne.
Opportunity
* Ongoing, full time position based at the Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct.
* YJW4 role: $107,681 - $122,190 per year plus superannuation.
* Night shift position working a rostered 7 day fortnight, including weekends and public holidays.
* Provide night management for the overall precinct operations across a custodial precinct from evening lockdown, overnight, through to morning unlock.
* Oversee the overarching safety and security of the precinct, staffing logistics, monitoring and compliance of systems and processes, and management of young people.
* Provide supervision of staff and ensure all necessary supports and planning are in place for young people in their care.
To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
* Advanced knowledge and expertise in adolescent development and in the assessment of and intervention in offending behaviour including an understanding of issues and complexities of the youth justice system.
* Experience in the professional supervision and development of a team of staff including the day-to-day management of work organisation, budget, resources allocation and service delivery.
* Ability to manage conflict, adapt quickly to change and maintain safety and security of staff and young people.
* Work with Children Check (WWCC) maintained by employee for the period of employment.
* Full driver's licence required for travel between offices.
* First aid unit HTLAID011 Provide First Aid including CPR and other current statement of attainment before commencement.
