Overview
St Luke's College, the only Catholic secondary school in the Pilbara region, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science teacher to join the team in Term 3 2026. Position: Science Teacher. The appointee will design and deliver engaging lessons that spark curiosity, foster inquiry, and build students' knowledge and skills across the sciences, while contributing to students' problem-solving abilities, scientific literacy, and understanding of the role of science in society.
Responsibilities

* Contribute to developing students' problem-solving abilities, scientific literacy, and understanding of the role of science in society.
Selection Criteria / Qualifications
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that engages and challenges all learners.
* Demonstrate expertise in teaching Science, with preference for ATAR Physics or Chemistry.
* Develop innovative and curriculum-aligned learning programs that build critical thinking and scientific skills.
* Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen the Science learning area.
* Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster excellent teacher-student relationships.
* Current WWC
* TRBWA registration (or ability to obtain)
* Tertiary qualification in Education
* Relevant qualifications and teaching certification in Science
Incentives & Benefits
* CEWA Rural Incentives: Relocation assistance (financial assistance or reimbursement for moving expenses, such as transportation of belongings and temporary accommodation).
* Housing Support: Assistance in finding suitable housing or provision of subsidised or discounted accommodation options for teachers relocating to Karratha. Teacher housing is organised by CEWA and is deducted at 10% pre-tax or 7.5% if shared.
* Additional Financial Incentives for Teachers: Fortnightly location allowance of $148.63 for singles and $297.25 for those with dependents; $6000 yearly bonus after a full year of service; Paid long service leave for each year of service at twice the applicable rate; Long service leave eligibility after three years of continuous service at the College (normally seven years at CEWA schools and ten in government schools); CEWA pays 100% of the teacher's water bill; subsidised electricity bills; a gardener for the property once a fortnight; return flights to Karratha for teachers and immediate family members at year-end (reimbursement up to $1334 per person).
