The Project Officer Role
We are seeking a talented Project Officer to support project managers in taking projects through approvals, post-approvals and financial close processes for 12 months, covering parental leave.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage site data using GIS, including topographic and cadastral data, site constraints, project layouts, environmental data, property schedule, residence matrix and stakeholder management plan.
2. Collaborate with project and technical teams to develop layouts throughout the development process.
3. Support consultation with landowners, negotiation of landowner agreements, legal dealings, and other correspondence as required.
4. Coordinate engagement and management of external consultants for studies during the development process.
5. Assist stakeholder consultation with local and/or State planning authorities, regulators, public, landowners etc.
6. Contribute to Development Applications, EPBC referrals, and statutory applications for project development.
7. Attend regular site visits to consult with stakeholders, assist on-site studies and escort clients and contractors around sites.
8. Provide continued support to projects during pre-construction, construction and operation as required.
Requirements
You will have:
1. Experience using GIS programs and maintaining complex data systems.
2. Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant studies such as renewable energy, planning, geography, business, environmental science, geospatial science.
3. Project officer or consultant experience within the environmental and planning sector.
4. Understanding of State Significant Developments, environmental impact assessments and planning.
5. Familiarity with landowner, stakeholder and planning elements of wind farm development (desirable).
6. Ability to travel domestically to rural and regional project locations.
7. Effective relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Computer literacy and Microsoft 365 software competence.
10. Australian driver's license.
