EOI - Science Technician - Springwood State High School
Springwood State High School is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to contribute to the effective and efficient management of the school science department.
The role provides technical and administrative support to the Head of Department, teachers, and laboratory staff and is performed independently within established guidelines and instructions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and administrative support to the science department.
- Prepare, distribute, and set up samples, demonstrations, and class sets of equipment for practical laboratory use.
- Prepare chemical solutions of known concentration from bulk supplies and manufacture simple glassware and general equipment for laboratory use.
- Work independently in the science laboratory, recognising, anticipating, and safely managing chemical hazards.
- Maintain scientific teaching resources, classrooms, storerooms, preparation rooms, and laboratories in a clean, secure, orderly, and secure manner.
- Perform responsible tasks associated with the efficient operation of the science department.
Qualifications & Experience
- Merit-based appraisal of knowledge, skills, experience, development potential, and personal qualities.
- Experience in science laboratory operations and resource maintenance.
- Current Queensland Government employee status.
