Key Responsibilities
As a Classroom Teacher - Chemistry/Science, you will be responsible for:
* Teaching and assessing students in Years 7-12, with a focus on Chemistry and Science
* Developing and implementing engaging and challenging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of all students
* Using data to inform your teaching practice and provide feedback to students and parents on student progress
* Developing and maintaining positive relationships with students, colleagues and the broader community to support student learning and wellbeing
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
1. Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills
2. Demonstrated experience in responding to student learning needs
3. Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn
4. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community
5. Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, including a commitment to ongoing professional learning and a willingness to reflect on and improve your practice
This role requires a strong understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Framework, as well as a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences that cater to the diverse needs of all students.
