We are seeking an experienced Community Liaison Officer to manage community, stakeholder, and Traditional Owner engagement for an upcoming Solar Farm & BESS project during construction.This is a highly visible, site-based role. You will be the primary point of contact for local communities, helping maintain the project’s social licence to operate. You will ensure all engagement meets contractual, regulatory, and best-practice standards. This role suits a confident professional who can build trust quickly, manage sensitive issues proactively, and balance community priorities with project delivery objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead Engagement Strategy – Develop, implement, and maintain the Community, Stakeholder, and Traditional Owner Engagement Plan, aligned with contractual, regulatory, and industry best-practice standards.Primary Community Interface – Act as the main contact for neighbours, local communities, contractors, and stakeholders during construction. Deliver notifications, meetings, community sessions, and updates.Traditional Owner & Cultural Heritage Coordination – Support respectful engagement with Traditional Owners and coordinate cultural events and activities in line with management plans.Complaints & Communication Management – Establish and manage enquiries and complaints channels, resolve issues in line with ISO standards, and maintain accurate records and reporting.Local Industry & Economic Participation – Promote local procurement, support industry engagement initiatives, and track outcomes against local participation commitments.Compliance & Continuous Improvement – Ensure all engagement activities meet planning and contractual obligations, monitor effectiveness, and implement process improvements with project and Principal teams.
About YouYou are a proactive communicator with strong stakeholder instincts and a practical, solutions-focused approach. You build trust quickly, handle sensitive situations professionally, and can operate autonomously on a busy construction site.Project Engagement Experience – Proven track record in community or stakeholder engagement on infrastructure, construction, energy, or resources projects.Framework Knowledge – Strong understanding of engagement frameworks (e.g., IAP2) and ability to apply structured processes.Stakeholder Management – Experience liaising with government, contractors, local communities, and project teams.Complaints & Issue Resolution – Skilled in managing community enquiries and complaints with reporting and documentation.Communication Skills – Excellent written and verbal communication, able to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.Organisation & Reporting – Highly organised, strong record-keeping, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
Highly regarded: experience working with Traditional Owners, renewable energy projects, and local content frameworks (ICN).
