Experienced Barista/Cafe All Rounder

We are seeking an enthusiastic and cafe all‐rounder to join our team at SUM Cafe and Thai eatery. As this position, you will be responsible for taking orders using the POS system, crafting and serving exceptional coffee and tea beverages and food while providing outstanding customer service. Your role will play a vital part in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers in a warm and welcoming manner.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, following our recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter and coffee station.
• Deliver food, coffee and beverages to the customers.
• Buss tables and wash, keeping the cafe area clean and tidy.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the coffee preparation area and equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 2 years experience in a similar role.
• Barista experience or coffee‐making skills required.
• Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and espresso equipment.
• Knowledge of POS systems.
• Excellent customer service skills, confident communicator with ability to engage with customers.
• Positive mindset, can‐do attitude, friendly and skilled demeanour.
• Ability to work in a fast‐paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Uphold health and safety guidelines and maintain a clean and sanitary workspace.
• Prior experience in customer service or as a barista is a plus.

Schedule & Hours

• Minimum 5 hours a day.
• Morning shift, afternoon shift, day shift.
• Weekday and weekend availability.
• Public holidays.

Pay & Benefits

• Pay: From $30.10 per hour.
• Award rate includes public holidays, weekends and penalty rates.
