The hospital provides a broad range of specialist services including general medicine, surgery, day surgery, planned and emergency theatre service, coronary care (including coronary angiography unit), intensive care, obstetrics, paediatrics, 24-hour Emergency Department, oncology, palliative care, rehabilitation, stroke, acute renal dialysis, mental health (including high dependency) and outpatient clinics. Coffs Harbour Health Campus is the major trauma centre of the north coast servicing from JHH to GCU.The temperate climate all year round lends itself well to the many outdoor activities such as surfing, sailing, whale watching, deep sea fishing, and golfing at the Internationally acclaimed BIG Course. Coffs Harbour is the perfect base from which to explore the many towns and villages within the Coffs Coast such as Bellingen, Sawtell, and Woolgoolga and slightly further up the highway is Byron Bay. A short 55 minutes by plane to Sydney with 6 flights per day and an even shorter to flight to Brisbane three days a week. There is also the option for a weekend getaway to Melbourne or the Sunshine Coast with direct flights. The region’s calendar is full of events such as the Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Yacht Race, Coffs Harbour International Buskers & Comedy Festival, Bellingen Jazz & Blues Festival, Woolgoolga’s Curryfest, Sawtell’s Chilli Festival and various other local shows and Food & Wine festivals.The city is a regional hub for business and Government and offers an excellent range of public and private schools, including North Coast TAFE, Southern Cross University, NSW University Rural Clinical School (UNSW), National Marine Science Centre and Regional Conservatorium of Music.What You'll Be DoingThe primary purpose of a Trainee - Stage 1 in Emergency Medicine is to provide high quality medical care under appropriate supervision to undifferentiated patients presenting to the Emergency Department.Trainees Undertaking The Care Of Medical Patients Should Ensure That They Operate Within Their Own Level Of Expertise Within a Collaborative Clinical Care Model And To Seek Consultation With Their Colleagues When Appropriate.
