**About the Role**
The Music Programming Assistant role supports the music team by assisting with the curation and execution of the 2025 Music Festival, providing administrative support to the Program Manager and Festival Producer.
**Requirements**:
**What does a day in the life look like?**
- Review and edit artist bios, assets and metadata for publication across SXSW Sydney platforms.
- Track programming decisions and status updates using spreadsheets and internal systems.
- Assist in preparing internal documentation, schedules, and artist communications.
- Monitor new releases and trends across TikTok, YouTube, streaming services, live events and press to identify rising talent.
- Provide general admin support as required across showcases, panels, and activations.
**About you**
**Essential Skills and Experience**
- 1-2 years' experience in music editorial, radio, events, artist services, or cultural programming.
- A deep interest in new music, regular attendance of live music, and a broad knowledge of emerging artists and internet culture.
- Strong editorial skills—comfortable editing bios, event descriptions, and metadata.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Confident working in spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel) and digital content management systems.
- Team player with great communication skills and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately. Also, ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, with conflicting deadlines and multiple projects
