DCC offers round-the-clock care to young people in different settings, such as residential, community access, outreach and supervised family contact. About You:
Hold a Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Work, Social Work or similar (or be studying towards)
Australian Drivers Licence (P2 or higher)
Blue card & Yellow card
Current First Aid & CPR certificate
3 months paid experience as a Residential Youth Worker
The ability to work a mixture of day, night and weekend shifts as required
Live in a location in QLD close to an airport with flights to Ipswich, Toowoomba and Bundaberg
To be successful in a FIFO youth worker position, you will need to have a passion for working with young people, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote or isolated environment.

About the Position
As a Residential Youth Worker, you will be part of something extraordinary. You will provide day-to-day assistance, guidance, support, and empowerment to help young people achieve their goals.
Fly in fly out (FIFO) youth worker positions in Ipswich, Toowoomba & Bundaberg typically involve working with young people in remote or isolated communities on a rotational basis (5 days on & 5 days off). These positions are offered to support young people in communities that have a restricted workforce. In addition to your casual hourly rate, all FIFO employees are entitled to a Living Away From Home Allowance (LAFHA).
The role is a casual opportunity offering adaptable work arrangements and a great work-life balance.
Please Note:
You must be a QLD resident to be eligible for this position as you will be required to obtain an LCS Clearance as a requirement of the role. This Clearance requires individuals to have a current QLD Driver's Licence & QLD residential address.
Responsibilities
Establish a secure and nurturing home environment for at-risk young people
Offer guidance and support with personal care requirements including meal assistance and hygiene routines
Provide transportation for school, appointments and community activities
Foster the development of skills and socialisation within the local community, alongside promoting positive pro-social peer interactions
Support in the administration of medications and associated reporting requirements for children on Child Protection orders
Provide trauma-informed care to young people who display complex behavioural issues and traumatic backgrounds
Engage in the Trauma Recovery practice framework and undertake Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within the first three months of your employment
