Queensland Metals Glencore is currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor within our Mines Power Station Department. Reporting to the Superintendent - MPS, you will be required to effectively co-ordinate and supervise a team of mechanical personnel carrying out maintenance, project and installation work within the Copper Smelter assets.
This is a Mount Isa residential position, and you will be required to work in accordance with a 4/3 12-hour day roster.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Ensuring that mechanical maintenance tasks are carried out in a safe and timely mannerManagement of your crews performanceManage shutdownsAbility to plan and control maintenance operations to optimise the use of all available resourcesConduct regular compliance audits and workplace inspectionsThe ability to build and maintain an effective team through coaching and personnel role modelling
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
Minimum 5 years Trade experienceTrade qualification – Mechanical fitterAbility to run contracting teams and manage small projectsPrevious experience with heavy industrial fixed plant maintenanceS1, S2, S3 qualifications are preferredYou will also be able to promote a constructive culture within your teamYou will have the ability to make decisions, work to deadlines, high level of work quality, exceptional communication skills and strive for continuous improvement
