Primary objective
The Office Coordinator provides strategic leadership, governance oversight and operational management of corporate services for
Northern Command, including housing, travel, procurement, administration and infrastructure coordination. The role manages the
Northern Command Administrative Support Unit, ensuring compliant, efficient and integrated delivery of business support services
aligned with NT Police Force (NTPF) strategic and operational priorities.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Lead and manage the Northern Command Administrative Support Unit, including workforce planning, supervision,
performance management, capability development and coordination of housing, travel, procurement, administrative and
infrastructure support services.
1. Provide high-level strategic and operational advice to Northern Command leadership on corporate services, governance,
workforce and business support matters, ensuring compliance with NT Public Sector (NTPS) policies, legislation and financial
frameworks.
1. Plan, implement and continuously improve business support systems, procedures and internal controls to ensure efficient,
compliant and cost-effective service delivery across the Command.
1. Manage financial and physical resources within delegated authority, including budget monitoring, asset oversight, grants
administration and procurement activities in accordance with government frameworks.
1. Establish performance monitoring and reporting mechanisms, analyse service delivery data and provide evidence-based
recommendations to inform decision-making and operational planning.
1. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and centralised service providers to coordinate
service delivery and support achievement of policing and NTPS strategic objectives.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in financial, human resource, procurement and asset management, including governance,
compliance and provision of authoritative advice.
2. High-level communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with demonstrated ability to build and maintain
effective collaborative relationships.
3. Demonstrated leadership capability including workforce planning, supervision, performance management and team
development.
4. Demonstrated ability to analyse information, prepare reports and provide evidence-based recommendations to inform
decision making.
5. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and manage competing demands to achieve outcomes within tight timeframes.
6. Demonstrated integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive matters appropriately.
Desirable
1. Experience working within a public sector corporate services environment, including knowledge of NT Government or NTPS
governance, financial and procurement frameworks.
2. Relevant qualifications in Business Administration, Management or a related discipline.
